With a day of thanks behind us and the season of giving just ahead, the #SAReads team is excited to announce our new December initiative.
15 Days of #SAReads
One of the things we’ve loved most about #SAReads this past year is the opportunity and honour to share, and share in, some amazing stories. Each book we read is more than just a collection of words on pages, and each conversation is more than just our attempt to appear well read and deeply intellectual (though, I imagine, we pull that off quite well). Each month we are privileged to receive the gift of many different stories; our stories, the author’s stories, and, most importantly, your story. There is a wonderful quote from Edmund Wilson that aptly captures the sheer joy we get from our monthly readings and discussions: “No two persons ever read the same book.” Thanks to all of you, we’ve received the gift of empathy, joy, insight, ideas, and a wider, deeper, more colourful worldview with every page. Now, as we enter into the final month of 2014, we want to share some gifts with you.
Each day, for the first 15 days of December, Kristen and I will be sharing a favourite book and literary-inspired item on our newly created Pinterest page. Be sure to check http://www.pinterest.com/kristenlabell/sareads/ every day between December 1 and December 15 for some holiday book list (or gift giving) inspiration. Of course, if you’re especially inspired, Kristen and I are happy to provide mailing addresses. J Don’t forget, these are also great rewards for others (or yourself) after meeting or exceeding a 2014 reading goal!
Did we miss a must have item? What book have you read this year that you absolutely have to share? Join the conversation over on the #SAReads hashtag on Twitter. Let’s spread some holiday joy, one page at a time.
