Anyone else tired? Ok, good. I’m glad it’s not just me.
2016 has seemed to have been a veritable whirlwind of negativity and catastrophe. Not to exaggerate, but multiple media organizations have dubbed 2016 the “Worst Year in History”. And that was already happening back in July!
Political debacles, natural disasters, acts of violence against all manners of humanity; you name it, 2016 has had it. Unfortunately, the world is going to remember 2016 for a thousand awful things.
So, as we all wait for 2016 to kindly show itself out, let’s change our scope of thinking for just a moment. Surely, there was one genuinely good moment that you can carry forward into the new year, right?
That’s what our #OneGoodThing series is all about.
Let’s all take a moment to reflect on something amazing that happened to us in 2016. It could be something like:
- A student interaction that had a profound impact on you
- Finding a new passion area
- A great professional development opportunity that changed your way of thinking
- Rediscovering your path to a long-forgotten dream
#OneGoodThing is about sharing the one good memory you’ll recall 5 years down the road and think “Gee, 2016 wasn’t all that bad after all”. If you have #OneGoodThing you’d like to share with the world, let me know at via email or on Twitter @dougtate. Let’s end 2016 on a high note!
