This month, #SACareer turns one! The brainchild of the Commission for Career Services, a commission under ACPA, #SACareer was developed as a resource to address careers both in and out of student affairs as well as the work of the career service professional. Last year brought conversations around professional development and balance, advice for graduate students and new professionals, conference inspirations, and program successes. We’ll continue these themes, and more, into the next year.
So, what’s in store for this year?
For year two, we’ve worked hard to create relevant and interesting monthly themes, pertinent within the field of student affairs and career services. Kicking it off with self care, along with last year’s themes, we’ll also focus on best practices, international student affairs, our many stakeholders, and what we’ve deemed #careerhacks – reinventing traditional career service practices.
As always, contributors are colleagues within student affairs, interested in sharing their expertise and musings. And posting is not limited to Commission for Career Service members! If you are interested in contributing or would like to nominate (ahem, voluntell) a friend or coworker, reach out to me, Cristina Lawson, at clawson@warren-wilson.edu. Let’s make this year of #SACareer a great one!
