Hi SAC Family,
We’re taking a break from our normal blog postings to share some exciting news.
From the beginning of the Student Affairs Collective, we set out to make SAC the go-to place online for peer-to-peer learning in Student Affairs. And through that mission, we’ve grown SAC to be the largest online community of Student Affairs Professionals. We couldn’t be more proud and humbled by what we’ve accomplished so far and this is in large part due to the amazing L-Team members, editors, writers, and readers who have all played critical roles within the community.
However, the growth of SAC has been limited in recent years by a lack of resources both financially and physically as Sabina, who oversees the leadership team, and I have been splitting our time between SAC and our student leadership training work at Swift Kick. We felt that in the right dedicated hands, SAC could really grow to the level of success that we knew it could.
With that, we are ecstatic to announce that NASPA has agreed to take on the future of SAC and help it grow while also maintaining its community-created ethos and content. The leadership teams from SAC and NASPA have engaged in great discussions over the past six months. We truly believe NASPA will provide exactly the kind of support and dedication that SAC needs. We couldn’t be happier for what this means for the future of this community.
Our goal is to be transparent about this transition, so I hope you’ll join us for an open discussion about the transition of SAC to NASPA on July 20th at 1pm EST as part of a special #SAChat. You’ll have a chance to meet the NASPA staff that we’ve been working with during the transition. Additionally, feel free to respond to this Community Feedback Survey.
Although we’ll be posting the questions and responses to #SAChat, we encourage you to participate virtually through the Zoom platform, as well. The log in information for the call is below, and we encourage you to join us on webcam if you have the capability:
