Alright, I’m launching a series on how to be awesome with Microsoft Excel. Data is all the rage in the assessment world and creating a structure of organization can help lead to better retention and knowledge of your programs. A lot of people I talk to freak out when they get a spreadsheet with lots of data as they just are not trained to look at it and really know the few basic clicks to make their lives easy with analysis.
This first episode is going to cover how to quickly summarize large amounts of data within two to three clicks. Throughout this series we’ll use real student data (okay, I modified the names and such) that you would probably come across in your day to day work and show you how to build knowledge from a spreadsheet through Excel’s most powerful function, the Pivot Table. So hang in there, download the sample file HERE and take the next five minutes and learn something that you will use forever. If you run into trouble or need further help, let me know on Twitter at @mattwcummings.
