Assessment–it is the word you hear about, potentially even referred to as a buzzword within Student Affairs (SA). You may know we need assessment on our campuses. You may love it and read every assessment article. Or, you might simply be intrigued by assessment. Some of you may also be starting your professional development journey, beginning to learn about assessment in Student Affairs. We know SA professionals possess a wide range of expertise and interest in assessment; therefore the Student Affairs Assessment Leaders‘ (SAAL) Professional Development Committee (PDC) is once again partnering with the Student Affairs Collective on an #SACHAT discussion to engage an audience with a wide range of expertise in SA Assessment.
SAAL is an organization that provides space for SA assessment leaders to share, collaborate, and advance assessment conversations at the Divisional, Institutional, and National levels. SAAL has an active list-serv that provides opportunities for SA assessment professionals to ask questions, and offer best practices surrounding Division-wide assessment, departmental/unit assessment projects, and documenting the ever so important student learning that occurs to support institutional missions at all levels.
We hope that this #SACHAT will provide opportunities for individuals to Tweet and learn from one another, and encourage folks to engage in learning about assessment in a potentially new platform.
